Awabakal
A large Aboriginal health and community service, organised so people can find care fast.
// The build
Awabakal delivers medical, dental, aged care, preschool, housing and social and emotional wellbeing services to Aboriginal communities across Newcastle and the Hunter. We built a site that turns a broad, multi-clinic service into something a visitor can navigate to the right help quickly.
A whole service, made navigable
GP and medical, dental, aged care, mental health, preschool, playgroup and housing each get a clear place in the menu, with clinics across Hamilton, Cardiff and Raymond Terrace laid out so people know where to go.
Built on culture
The site is anchored by Awabakal’s values (Communication, Consultation and Collaboration) each illustrated with a traditional symbol. It reads as an organisation grounded in community, not a generic clinic template.
Practical and resourceful
Membership and aboriginality-confirmation forms, a family-history research guide and a Welcome to Country directory of local land councils sit alongside the services: a site that does real work for its community.
